The NFL on Christmas Day?? What a beautiful world we live in. People say things are bad in the world but we get 3 Games to get us through the day on Christmas. Two have the potential to be unwatchable, but the prime-time game may just be the NFL Game of the Year. Let’s break them down.
The Las Vegas Raiders are heading to Kansas City to take on the Chiefs in what looks to be a get-right game for the Chiefs. They have been very mediocre this year. Especially in the second half of ball games, but they own the Raiders.
Andy Reid taking on an interim coach in Antonio Pierce, coupled with a rookie quarterback in Aidan O’Connell looks like some difficult math for the Raiders. This is a spot where good teams dominate. I love the Chiefs (-10).
The New York Giants get the luxury of taking on a pissed-off Philadelphia Eagles team that is coming off a few stinkers in a row. Another potential get-right spot for the Eagles, who are looking to take a commanding lead in the NFC East.
Tommy Devito experiment went bust last week, and this week he was selling Rao’s jarred sauce, which may have lost him the Italian faithful. The Giants are going to lean on Saquan Barkley to have a chance in this one. I believe that you can’t give the Eagles (-10.5) enough points in this one.
Lastly, we get the potential NFL Game of the year, and potentially a Super Bowl preview. The number one seeds in each conference are facing off on Christmas night. This game can provide a lot of answers for the rest of the season.
I believe that these two quarterbacks are the front runners for the NFL MVP award, and this one could decide it. Is Lamar going to be able to be the magician that he has been this season in the pocket against the dominant 49ers pass rush? Will Brock Purdy be able to find enough open receivers against this strong Baltimore defense? The Niners struggled against the Kyler Murray-led Cardinals on the ground, I think Lamar and the Ravens ( 5) can run it enough to keep it very close.
